Metaphysics is the study of things yet unexplainable by science or
religion. We live in time when science seeks to prove and explain everything. If
science can’t prove or explain a concept a concept, then it doesn’t exist – or so the scientific community
claims. Spiritual metaphysics approaches concepts a bit differently. As a metaphysical
practitioner you will acquire an experiential approach to the concepts you will be learning.
As we progress in the evolution of our planet, more is being revealed
to us about energy and light – especially in the areas of healing and the maintenance of everything from our physical
bodies to our planet. It seems that the scientific community is running to catch up. More
and more people are turning to meditation, Yoga, energy healing, and psychic experiences. Alternative medicine
is becoming a respectable field – even recognized by some insurance companies.
What is the basis to everything we are discussing? It
is spiritual metaphysics! Energy! When we fully understand energy, we obtain the “keys
to the universe.” We have the potential to create and destroy at will. This is
an awesome responsibility when taken seriously.
A good example of a civilization that fully understood energy is Atlantis.
A river ran through Atlantis, dividing it into two very distinct areas. On one side of the river
lived the spiritual healers, teachers, and Masters. All Atlanteans had highly developed psychic abilities.
They were able to communicate telepathically, and lived in peace and health. The spiritual healers
and teachers kept the spiritual philosophies of love and compassion alive. There was very little disease,
now wars, no socio-economic classes.
On the other side of the river lived the scientists and technologists. These great minds were able
to create everything their civilization needed for survival through their deep understanding of energy. They
used the energy of crystals to create a transit system that we couldn’t begin to comprehend. They
could program crystals to do almost anything – and to remember everything.
Atlantis existed as a beautiful land of peace and harmony until the
scientific community started using their knowledge to benefit a chosen few. Greed and power began to infect
the land. As the scientists and technologists became overcome with greed and self-centeredness, they took
control of the land. They took the healers to one area a put an energy band around it so they couldn’t
leave or communicate. They did the same with all spiritual leaders and teachers.
Because of their self-serving greed that became that became the motivational
force in science and technology, the energy of Atlantis became very dense. It has been said that it was
this dense energy that caused the earthquakes in Atlantis.
At the end, there was no spirituality in Atlantis. Misdirected
science and technology had wiped it out and destroyed the land. All but a few Atlanteans perished when
the land broke up and sunk below the sea.
The few people who survived the demise of Atlantis traveled to different parts of the world, taking with them crystals
programmed with all the history and knowledge of their homeland. These crystals were kept hidden until recently.
Our scientists are now developing the technology to open some of these crystals and learn the secrets of Atlantis.
This could be a blessing or a curse, depending on how this knowledge will be used. Will the motivation
be love and compassion, or greed and power?
Science, technology, and even metaphysics are powerful fields of study. They have and are discovering
things that can heal and save our planet, or (if greed and power dominate) will ultimately destroy our planet.
The emphasis must be on spirituality first and foremost. Spirituality opens us up to the healing,
loving energy of the universe. When this positive energy if flowing through us, our motivation is to help
ourselves and others; to make sure everyone has their needs met, are healthy, and can live in peace.
Spirituality is not pa specific religion. To my
understanding, it is realizing your connection with the Divine, the universe, the planet, mankind – and ultimately –
yourself. It is seeking to learn and grow, to walk in truth and love. Spirituality combined
with metaphysics or science creates a balance. Balance is critical in energy work. Everything,
including consciousness, consists of energy. Everything and everyone share and are connected by this energy.
Keeping this energy balanced, healthy, and focused is the purpose and goal of spiritual metaphysics.
Margie McArthur, in her book ‘Wisdom
of the Elements’ describes the current condition of our world:
We’ve lost touch with the Spirit within ourselves
and our world. We’ve lost touch with the
Spirits of our ancestors, who once held the wisdom of
our tribes and could be called upon
for guidance and help. We’ve lost touch with our Spirit allies and helpers, those being who
subtly assist us from the other realms. We’ve
lost touch with the spirits of the land, the
plants, the animals, the Sun, the Moon, and the Stars.
Our materialistic culture and science has taught that
none of these exist: there is no Spirit
within, the Moon is a dead rock, and the Sun is just a glowing ball of gases. If we just
quantify, count, and observe behavior, we will then know
the essence of the thing. Even
our moods and behavior patterns have quantifiable, genetic basis, and
they tell us so. So
we define ourselves by our quantifiable characteristics, behaviors, and even our
possessions – and are under the mistaken impression
that we know ourselves well. We
remember the things that occur in our lives and mistakenly think that
we are only the sum
of our memories. Yet all the while the emptiness, and the longing to fill it remains.
Things are such in the world today that we can no longer
afford the illusion of separation
from the rest of nature. We can no longer deny that we are part of the web of existence, or
that what happens on our part of the web affects other
parts of the web. And we have to
live this, not just mentally subscribe to it as an appealing idea.
When we do, our world
opens up and out to us in a profound way. No longer do we feel empty; rather, we quite
tangibly feel ourselves permeated with Spirit.
No longer do we feel alone; rather we now
can feel our connectedness with every other life form. We
fill with joy and gratitude for the
love and support that consistently surrounds and upholds us.
It is up to each of us, individually, to choose between
separation or connection. We must
decide on a daily basis whether or not we will acknowledge our connection
to all things in
the universe, or separate ourselves. It is only when we choose to fully embrace our
connection to all things and all beings that we can experience
a rebirth in spirit. Make
everyday a birthday In spiritual renewal.
Energy
Everything is energy, and energy is everything. You can read these words and tell yourself it makes
sense, but what does it really mean?
What
is Energy?
Energy
consists of vibration or movement. Scientifically, energy is vibration with a specific frequency, a positive
charge, and moves at the speed of light. There is another form of energy called “subtle energy”
used in esoteric practices. According to Richard Gerber in his book ‘Vibrational Medicine’,
“Subtle energy is a general term denoting energy that often exists outside the ordinary or positive space/time frame,
i.e. magnetoelectric energy which moves faster than light.”
Energy as Life Force
The subtle energy we receive from the Universe – and ultimately from the Divine Source – is the life force
that fuels the human energy field and the physical body. This subtle energy originates at such a high frequency
that it must pass through the various sets of chakras (energy centers) in all the layers of the human energy field in order
to be stepped-down enough for the physical body to receive it with no harm. Once it reaches the physical
body, it enters the cellular structure. We will deal with this process in detail in later lessons.
Energy as Consciousness
Gerber gives us an excellent definition: “Consciousness is
seen by many in the esoteric fields as a type of energy. The energy of consciousness takes on many forms
as it evolves to progressively higher levels of frequency, insight, and cosmic perspective. As consciousness
gains experiences from interacting with its environment, it moves forward in expanding its dimensions of creative expression,
as well as evolving upward in the frequency dimensions of energy…even the most basic constituents of matter, the atoms
(and even electrons), have some level of consciousness which evolves to progressively higher levels of experiential output
and behavioral repertoire. As the energy of consciousness moves its way to progressively higher levels
of frequency, it moves upwards into the various life forms.
Energy as Matter
Einstein
led us to this concept. Since energy comes in a wide range of frequencies, it would only make sense that
the lowest frequencies of energy compose matter. Gerber describes it as follows: “We know that matter
and energy are two different manifestations of the same primary energetic substance of which everything in the universe is
composed, including our physical and subtle bodies. The vibratory rate of the universal energy determines
the density of its expression as matter. Matter which vibrates at a very low frequency is referred to as
physical matter. That which vibrates at speeds exceeding light velocity is known as subtle matter.
Subtle matter is as real as dense matter; its vibratory rate is simply faster.
Energy Connecting the Universe
We are all energy beings existing in an energy universe.
We are created from, and are part of, the pure energy of the Divine. It is through this energy that
we are all connected to all things in the universe. Every creation receives and transmits this energy.
Every thought and feeling we experience is transmitted to the world around us in this energy. This
energy connects us and makes us one with the universe and the Divine.
Global Consciousness
As stated in the previous section, every thought and feeling we experience is transmitted to the world around us through
our energy. When a large group of people share a common thought or feeling, this energy becomes dominant
– spreading to the energy fields of more and more people. This is what is meant by global consciousness.
It can be compared to a contagious disease. It spreads from person to person, sometimes infecting
large groups. This infection will continue to spread until measures are taken to stop it. Global
consciousness can be changed by a conscious effort of a few people. By consciously transmitting the energy
of a new thought form, the process begins.
